Check it out! Andrew Earles linked my Top-10 post!
Man, I tell you my life couldn’t get any more surreal right now, but at least things continue to stay interesting.
The biggest news I have for the day is that Andrew Earles link my last blog post on his site. In case you forgot, Earles is a music writer/reviewer that has been a constant source of inspiration for me over the years. He’s even crossed over into comedy, something I’ve thought about more than I should probably admit.
His column in Magnet Magazine, “Where’s the Street Team?” was my first exposure to his work, but I must say, his writing in www.dustedmagazine.com’s “Still Single” feature has been so good — not to mention hilarious — lately I’ve taken on a whole new appreciation of the guy (Seriously, just for a random example check out his entry on Nice Face’s latest. Yes, you’ll have to scroll down a bit; so sorry. It’s not really a proper review but it just proves he can do anything and stay readable. Amazing.), not to mention Doug Mosurock.
I hate that expression guitarists use where they hint at giving up the guitar when they see _____ (whoever has a hot post-Fahey record out that week) play, but that’s how I feel when I take in the analysis of these chaps. Truly inspiring.
Anyway, just wanted to share that link with you and explain my gushing a bit more. Stay tuned this week for a review of the recent Tonstartssbandht/M. Pyers/Run DMT show, a write-up/MP3-sampling-platter on Bluegreengold Cassettes and more.
