Corey Feldman - "Soul Search, Part. 1" MP3 + whole album, "Still Searching for Soul" sample
Let's take a trip down memory lane for a moment, if you will; it's 2000; you live in Spokane; you love going to Ichabod's North and swilling beer. If this is the case, you probably saw Corey Feldman's band, Truth Movement, play there Nov. 2.
I bet you didn't read this article about it though. This is truly my best-ever article; I can say that without ego. It was penned when I was still fresh and full of new ideas, as opposed to old and jaded.
My buddy Ryan Kirkingburg's band Illicit -- fresh off the post-Subtle energy he attained opened the show and, I must say, fuckin' tore it up. Illicit were scrappy as shit, in no small measure because of the intense guitarin' and because "Kick," as we called him, catapulted himself into awesomeness we had never anticipated.
Kick, Kevin Neu, Shane Yakel and Jason (shit, forgot his last name, can someone help me out here?) just-plain got the job done.
He carried that into Seven Cycles, too.
I'm guessing they weren't paid enough because the house was packed and they didn't end up millionaires.
But seriously, I used to really enjoy writing these things and I think it comes across. Check it out!
