John Frusciante – “Running Away Into You”
Well, I finally found time to get down on some John Frusciante. This guy’s a longtime solo favorite of Gumshoe’s, and even hearing these three songs reminds me of Adam Roby and Berg, two guitarists I used ‘ta jam with that play a little like Fruscie.
My fave by far is “Running Away Into You,” a tape-looped fantasy world you just don’t find anywhere these days. If only I coulda found an MP3 of “Murderers,” I woulda hooked you up with that too. Simply awe-inspiring.
Also, with all the reviews out lately concerning the new Frog Eyes I figured I’d better dig up the dirt on these guys once again with some hot/reheated tracks from The Folded Palm and The Golden River. But, um, there’s very little of that out there.
So I did the next-best thing: I found a live recording F. Eyes did a few years ago that VERY few of you heard. Suck on THAT.
Also, this remix of Think About Life‘s “Sweet Sixteen” is pretty cool. Not at all how I imagined TAL would sound these days, but good …
Think About Life are actually a side project themselves, me-thinks … yep, this is Graham Van Pelt of Miracle Fortress. If you aren’t in the Know on this, Miracle Fortress are pretty damned good too.

just read a pitchfork interview with wavves, he has new album out in august with jay reatards backing band and said he has an album with z hill already finished
