HOLY GOD, OH GOD, MUWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAH, OH GOD, OH CHRIST, PLEASE HELP ME, OH GOD, MUSHSHASOIHDGAOSIDHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA …
OH JESUS CHRIST, OH HELP ME JESUS, OH HELP ME JEWISH GOD, OH LORD AND SAVIOR DELIVER ME FROM THIS UNMITIGATED FUNNINESS …
Oh man, just give me a second to gather myself … Aight, I’m good. Well, the video clip above is what EVERYONE’S talking about: A clip of Jimmy Kimmel RIPPING into Jay Leno, FESTOONING his guts with a sharp-ass sword of comedy, then BATHING in the resultant pool of blood, guts and Leno bile.
ON LENO’s OWN SHOW! This might have been even less subtle than the ENTIRE SHOW he hosted earlier this week in full Leno drag. Check that out, too, in two parts!
I’m proud of Kimmel; in both cases he didn’t back off for even a SECOND, giving Leno the same treatment he gave Letterman years ago in THIS clip, also hilarious just because Letterman is so much classier than Leno:
I’m with that dude from NPR on this one: I’m all for the “Late Night Wars” if it means programming this hilarious, this biting, this … dare I say EDGE-Y? Yep, I guess I do.
NBC may be the most retarded group of rich executives on the planet, and Jay Leno may be a washed up pile of unfunny dog vomit, but at least I can tune into his show to see him get brick after brick dropped on his head.
Suffice to say, people are talking about this shit for a reason, so if you haven’t seen this stuff elsewhere, grab your family, a bowl of popcorn and plant yourself in front of yr laptop. WE’RE GOING TO HAVE SO MUCH FUN TOGETHER!

HAAAA love this. Kimmel just went up like a dozen notches in my book. Now THAT is comedy.
oh god, I nearly lost my life laughing at the different clips, even that Leno clip on the Letterman show back in the day. I still can’t believe any of this happened on live tv! KZUU back on the air from break yet?
KZUU is back, still bummin on Jay Reatard’s passing, or at least I am.
god no kidding, i wrote up a Post about it and realized i didn’t have much to say and scrapped it. either way though J Reatard was more important to the current uptick of quality punk than people realize. i remember when that record came out a few years ago every record store was blasting it, from Albany to NYC to Saratoga Springs (i was in upstate N.Y. at the time) … a very universal record, and a grip of other bands have benefitted from the bridging of various scenes (Jay did splits with Deerhunter, Thee Oh Sees, so many more) … shit, i guess i did have a lil’ to say!
Yeah, Reatard seemed to cram about 10 yrs worth of songwriting into the last 3-4 yrs, and the quality is insane. I was watching this short documentary on him called “Waiting For Something” made last summer and it really fascinated me. He had that live fast, die young rockstar thing for sure, but he also had this eerie sense of fate. Anyway, his work ethic and passion for songwriting was damn near unparalleled amongst his peers.
i think i heard about that doc, or maybe there’s another one floating around? but yeah, total consistency, right? Like I was saying before though, there were absolutely NO good punk bands 6-7 years ago. if you wanted to move beyond the whole Epitaph thing there were few visible options (i’m sure there were plenty of great punkers i didn’t know about of course), and JR helped change that gradually. RIP
