Oh man oh man oh man oh man oh man do I HATE Gene Simmons. Possibly the worst secretly gay musician to emerge from the 20th century, Simmons give low-ball a whole new identity with his shameless persona and media celebrity.
Hey, it must be nice to be an insecure dude who somehow made it Big, but, I mean, c’MON. This guy is nothing but a merchandising tool, his bulbous, billowing tongue used to sell more action figures than the G.I. Joe movie.
The way he talks about women? Yeeeah, never been a fan; being sexist in a satirical sense or as an overblown joke is one thing, but to consistently act inhuman is another thing altogether.
Verdict? BIG-TIME douchery.
“You; you ARE weird.” “You’re very defensive on money aren’t you?”
These are statements Terri Gross utters within the first minute or two; things get ugly fairly quickly. Then, Gene Simmons, being the mega-douche he is, starts tearing into poor Terri. “I have better skin than yours.”
Then Terri really starts bringing the noise. Simmons says she needs to welcome him with open arms and legs, and she says, “That’s a really obnoxious thing to say … Has it come to this? Is this the only way you can talk to a woman, to do that schtick?”
Oh lord, the audio is so frosting-delicious I just want to lick it out of the air. I also want to Kick Simmons’ teeth in every time he talks. He’s such a classic American male (even though he’s from abroad). He can only feel good about his meager accomplishments in relation to others, which is why, for instance, he mentions at one point he makes more money than NPR (which, as everyone knows, is SUCH a cash cow).
Anyway, this guy is definitely up for douche of the century (this OR last); thank god for Gross!

He’s the classic “American” male? Please. If you think his douchiness is unique to America then you must live behind your computer in your mother’s basement. These jackoffs exist everywhere in great numbers. Time to add you to the douche list.
to say his arrogance and sexism don’t carry with them at least a hint of tried, true American idiocy is to admit you live on a college campus or listen to NPR while you cry yourself to sleep at night. thanks though, joe-blow (i guess?)
