OK, so I’ve played around with my baby a bit on different instruments, but it’s never really been something to write home about.

Video of my baby, Penelope (Penny, or P-Lo, or Pen-Pen), and I jamming together!
In lieu of a regular blog post, I’m going to talk about — and share a video of — my super-cute daughter! AWESOME!!!
Normally, she plucks at the guitar with the pick for a few minutes before dropping it into the F hole. Or she’ll play her baby xylophone for a few seconds before moving onto something else. Or, even funnier, she’ll sort of moan along with my wife and I as we sing.
Well, that’s all changed now, and I’m not sure if I’m ever going to jam with adults again.
In this video, which I took today, she starts off pounding the drums a bit, then really finds her home on our church organ.
She even manages to get all into this music, bobbing her head and trying out different switches and settings.
It’s a four-minute video, so be patient; I had to move her from the drums to the organ AND set up the camera too, so there’s some static time. But the point remains: My baby is an indie-rock goddess at 22 months!
Moments like this are so magical it’s tough to put into words, but I’ll try anyway: Bitchin’!!!

That is so freaking CUTE!! She is totally dancing along and everything! She's got serious rhythm.
haha, wish we would have gone with the Suzuki method
you're such an awesome dad to that beautiful baby girl!!!
that's an outright lie
Very sweet baby! Did you know that there is another Penelope Purdum in out here? I couldn’t believe it when I searched under my name and found your baby! As someone who has never personally met another Penelope finding one with my last name was unreal. Love to see the videos.
holy god, so does that mean you’re related to us? and how about that Purdum that works on Family Guy? James, I believe. There is Purdum greatness all around us!!! great to hear from you, Penelope! do you ever go by “penny”? just curious, that’s what I call penelope a lot, or Pen-Pen, P-Lo or just-plain Pen … the name has a lot of great shortcuts!
